“West Region Spring Conference”
Join art educators for the TAEA West Regional Spring Conference held at the Metal Museum in Memphis, TN! This year, conference participants will enjoy a free, hands-on professional development experience that pairs studio making with behind-the-scenes learning. The afternoon includes a guided tour and two small-group workshops (capped at 10 participants each).
Conference Details
ABOUT workshops:
Beginner Enameling (offered at 1 P.M. and 3 P.M.)
This workshop will have teachers explore multiple enameling techniques on copper and learn how glass powder is fused to metal through high heat to create a glossy, decorative surface.
Cast Art Tile (offered at 1 P.M. and 3 P.M.)
This workshop will have teachers design a small relief tile by drawing within a 4-inch square and carving into resin-bonded sand, which the foundry team then casts into an aluminum art tile.
