ABOUT workshops:

Wet Felting Basics | Laurie Kay

Participants will be making a bird house or a bowl with a lid from wool rovings, lots of agitation, and an awesome 80’s playlist.

Letterpress: Language as Texture | Elysia Mann

Jump right into letterpress through improvisational printing! Participants will work with all the presses in the studio to build lay lively compositions from wood and metal type, exploring the possibilities of letterforms as visual forms rather than semantic containers. Everyone will leave with a few frame-worthy prints and a spiral-bound sketchbook made from the prints.

Cell Phone Stop Motion Animation | Hannah Jane Oliver

Participants will get a basic overview of the principles of stop motion animation and learn about creating basic with the goal of using a free application on their cellphones to make their own animations. Anyone who is enrolled in this will need a device that can download stopmotion studio (available on IOS, Android, and Google devices) with a working camera.

Ceramics: Skull Hand Building | Raquel Riemer

In art, skulls carry messages of danger, loss, power, identity, and reminders of memento mori. Through learning sculptural hand building techniques, you will create a representational skull from clay to carry your own message.

Limited Seating:

Every effort will be made to place you in your first choice; however, alternative choices are recommended should workshops fill up.
