“City vs. Country” Bookmaking: AA241 Printshop

by Bryan Baker

Come create an exciting book-form that will have its’ viewers traveling through an endless landscape. The finished book will have over 16 feet of hidden and revealed landscapes. It is constructed with eight interacting foldouts and a uniquely designed binding stitch. The pages will proceed to switch back onto themselves very quickly; the beginning becomes the middle and the end magically becomes a half-way point. The book’s interior will be created by making graphite rubbings from a shared collection of thin relief blocks. This curious book is truly fun and lends itself to experimentation and collaboration. Please bring a pair of tough scissors and an Xacto blade handle that can hold #11 blades.
